Free Science Fair Project Ideas, Answers and Tools for Serious Students

A Science Fair is held every year with Junior High participants from both 7th and 8th grades. Mrs. Cindy Hamilton, our Junior High Science teacher, works with all students to teach them how to create an experiment using the process of the Scientific Method.
The 7th and 8th grade students did an impressive job on this years Science Fair. The students started working on the Science Fair the first week of school and their projects came to fruition on November 12th, 2009. In order to complete this project, the students needed to use the scientific method, write a 700+ word research report about their project, complete the experiment, chart and graph the results, and finally present it to the class. The projects were displayed in the gym for the school students to walk around and ask the Junior High Scientists what their projects were about. At 2:30 pm, the 8th grade students gave their presentations to the teachers who judged the projects. These results end in either a 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place ribbon awarded to each project.

We are so proud of our students! Our Jr. High Science Fair was wonderful. The projects and presentations were well done and interesting. Our four best of show winners will now go to the Regional Fair at the Museum of Science and Industry.
The Best of Show winners are Clare F., "Gender Analysis in Writing", Nicholas H., "Maximum Solar Energy", Kimberly M., "Nature’s Natural Power Source", and Angel R., "Breath of Life". Congratulations to Mrs. Hamilton for a great Science Fair and to Mrs. Loftus and Mrs. Murphy for their support.
Additional congratulations to Mrs. Hamilton for being named by WBBM radio as “Teacher of the Week.” She won $500.00 to purchase equipment for her classroom.
